Mama's Trick For Teething . . . Spoons!

Do you know how hard it is to feed a baby that is teething?Loco has a habit of stealing the spoon, so he can chew on it and is already trying to feed himself - little overachiever! In order to feed him dinner, I need to bring at least three infant spoons to the table. However, I have a trick that I made-up with Loo that is working for him, too:

- Take a large glass and fill it with ice cubes and water (makes a good drink to go with your dinner)
- Put 3 or more large soup spoons in the glass to get cold
- Give one to the baby for teething purposes
- He/she will eventually drop it on the floor - no big deal
- When the fussing begins (again) or the baby tries to steal the feeding spoon, give them another cold spoon
- Repeat as necessary :)
NOTE: It helps to have another small glass with ice/water holding a spoon or two for any big brothers/sisters. Though Loo is not teething, she wants in on the "fun" and loves to eat crushed ice! There you have it! Mama's unique trick for dealing with teething at the dinner table. If you want to see some pictures of Loco demonstrating how easy it is, click on the Flickr badge below to view them.

That is such an awesome tip! I will remember it for baby J.D.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't have been that creative at that stage. Just would of got frustrated that they kept dropping the damn spoon.

You are a Mother Genius!
